I’m just gonna put this out there: I am a 40-something woman and mother living in Metro Vancouver. I’ve heard that 40 is the new 30 and most people think I look much younger than I am, but I am starting to wonder if age is catching up with me. I am originally a small town girl, but it’s not like I just crawled out from under a rock either. So I’m not sure why there are so many trendy things happening around me that I just don’t get:
- men’s cardigans
- platform heels
- pastel hair
- the Kardashians
- tattoos
- Real Housewives of anywhere
- wearing pajamas outside the house
So, is it just me? What are the things you see from day to day that you just don’t get? Tell me so I don’t feel so alone!

Hah! This cracks me up Lori! I (well and I guess Brad too for the men’s cardigan thing) do/have out of your 11 things. 😉
How many of my 11 things do you have? I didn’t list any diamond in the tooth issues so you are safe on that one : )
I like men’s cardigans, tattoos & piercings. I like the looks of 3-inch heels, but can’t wear them myself. I’m with you on the Kardashians & RHOV franchise, as well as the PJs outside the house. I don’t get:
1. Wearing yoga pants as normal clothing–it feels like me wearing a cycling jersey when I’m not on my bike.
2. How people are still wearing Uggs.
3. Status cars.
4. Tanning.
Wearing pjs in public…. My biggest pet peeve! C’mon people! 😉
That one was from my husband – he can’t believe people do that!!
