Mark Saturday, July 13th from 10 am to 3 pm on your calendar when Fraser Health communities will have a chance to see inside Canada’s second largest Emergency Department at Surrey Memorial Hospital which opens to patients October 1st including a brand new Pediatric Emergency Department.
Tour the new state of the art facility — the size of 3 NHL hockey rinks. Emergency staff will be on hand for a show and tell, too.

• Tour our separate Pediatric Emergency Department just for kids, 1 of only 2 in BC
• Learn how wait times to be triaged will be shorter
• Peek inside new patient treatment rooms (there’s over 100 of them)
• Check out new electric stretchers (ER staff love them!)
• Find out how Fraser Health is reducing the spread of infectious diseases
• Hear about the new CT scanner and mobile x-ray machines
• Learn about new services for mental health and substance use patients
Access to the new Pediatric Emergency Department – only the second of its kind in BC – is an exciting development for families and will feature:

- draw on erasable bedside tables
- watch tv while you are waiting
- pediatric team available 24/7
- family centered care
Hospital parking is free during the Sneak Preview. The event entrance is at the SW corner of 94A Avenue.

I’m quite excited to hear this. While I can’t make the open house, we’ve been there with our son on the pediatric side of emergency and they were great – this will help make them fabulous!!
