Living in the Tri-Cities, we love exploring the wonderful local family events and the Easter holiday is no exception. It’s fun to run into friends and neighbours when you go out and about in the community. With that in mind, here’s a rundown of family friendly Easter events in the Tri-Cities and nearby areas including Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, New Westminster and Burnaby.
EASTER ARTS CARNIVAL
Hop on back to Leigh Square for the 7th annual Easter Arts Family Carnival! Featuring Easter scavenger hunt, arts activities, storytelling, entertainment and much more! Registration required at www.experienceit.ca or call 604.927.7529.

PORT MOODY EASTER EXTRAVAGANZA
Enjoy face painting, make your own bunny ears, basket making, dancing dogs and an Easter Egg hunt. Don’t forget to check out the train station and vintage train cars while you are there, circa 1908.

BURNABY CENTRAL RAILWAY: MINIATURE TRAIN RIDES
One of our very favourite things, the Burnaby Central Railway opens this week! Take a ride on one of the longest miniature railways of its kind, featuring more than 3 km of track, and steam, diesel and electric trains. Fun for big kids and little kids too!

EASTER IN QUEEN’S PARK
Easter in Queen’s Park is a New Westminster tradition. Enjoy lots of fun activities: performances by the One Woman Circus, Sm:)e Band and Lyle Povah; a Flip, Flop & Fly Zone; petting farm; crafts and face painting, and get your photo taken with the Easter Bunnies (with a $2 donation).

EASTER EGG HUNT
This hunt will be an ‘eggcellent’ start to your Easter Sunday! A morning filled with activities, entertainment, and the search for the “Golden Egg”. The lucky hunter will win a special gift. The Easter egg hunt for children 0 – 9 years old will begin at 9:00am. The Easter egg hunt for children 10 – 12 years old will begin at 10:00 am.

7th ANNUAL BURKE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY EASTER EGG HUNT
This egg hunt is fun but very crowded. Meet the Easter Bunny and collect treats hidden in the park. Listen to the live band. Please bring your own Easter egg basket. Parking is tricky; arrive early to avoid disappointment.
