Celebrating Canada Day is always fun, but I was super excited to check out the plans for Canada 150 in the Tri-Cities and beyond! Here’s the low down on what’s happening in Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Burnaby, New Westminster and a couple of surprise events from Vancouver and North Vancouver:

Coquitlam Celebrates Canada 150
One of the biggest parties in the region! Join in the family-friendly celebrations at Town Centre Park on Saturday, July 1, featuring live music and entertainment presented by the TD Group, as well as a climbing wall and fireworks. Food and craft beer available for purchase… more
Canada Day at Rocky Point Park
Check out Golden Spike Days and then stop by at the adjacent Canada 150 Zone to enjoy free games, mini golf and a community art project at Rocky Point Park. Trooper is playing at 9:00 pm followed by fireworks (approximately 10:30 pm)… more
Canada Day in Port Coquitlam
Port Coquitlam’s annual Canada Day celebrations kick off at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast and fishing derby at Lions Park. The fun continues from noon to dusk at Castle Park with live entertainment, firefighters salmon barbecue and the Grand Finale Fireworks… more
CANADA DAY IN BURNABY AND NEW WESTMINSTER
Free Concert & Fireworks at Swanguard Stadium
Celebrate the spirit of Canada Day with a free concert including headliner Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies) and fireworks display at Swanguard Stadium. Gates open at 5pm, concert at 6:30pm, ending with the fireworks grand finale at dusk … more
Canada Day at Burnaby Village Museum

Canada Day at the Peak of Vancouver
Try your hand at axe-throwing, show off your hockey skills at our puck shoot-out and capture a keepsake photo with mascot Grizwald the Grizzly bear. Not to be missed are the special Canada 150 edition of the World Famous Lumberjack Show, ranger talks at the Grizzly Bear habitat, Birds in Motion demonstration and more. In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, be a part of history as Grouse Mountain attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the “largest human maple leaf” in the world… more
