I am a freelance writer living in the ‘burbs of Metro Vancouver. I am also the mama of a mischievous 8-year-old boy and have a wonderful husband who is a totally involved daddy. I don’t use their names in this blog to protect the innocent!
When I started blogging, I had a lot of emotions to work through related to having dealt with a two-year period of infertility and delivering a premature baby. I became very ill due to HELLP Syndrome at 7 months into the pregnancy and the only way to save my life and the baby was an emergency C-Section. We were blessed – both of us are okay and these days blogging is simply about life as we know it.
After maternity leave, I chose to stay home with my child and work part-time as a freelance writer and consultant rather than returning to my full time position in Public Relations. My philosophy is that life is precious, time is precious – and he will only be little once. Needless to say, I have lots of material to work with since my family is my life – and I like it like that.

Great Story Lori. My wife and I have a very similar journey. Infertility for two years and then our twins were born 2 months early. I am from Ireland, reside in Germany but lived in Vancouver for several years.
Thanks so much for sharing that with me!
