With the Healthy Family Expo coming up fast on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in downtown Vancouver, I am delighted to be giving away two tickets (and you’ll be able to take the whole family because kids under 12 receive free admission) to the event and a Nature’s Path Healthy Family Prize Pack. Nature’s Path will be hosting a booth at the Healthy Family Expo and are celebrating their first year at the event with this great giveaway.

I haven’t attended the Healthy Family Expo but it looks like a lot of fun for the whole brood including two performances by Bobs & Lolo and a family yoga session. There is also an amazing group of exhibitors related to active living, health and wellness, food and nutrition and eco-friendly living.

The Healthy Family Expo is being held on Sunday, March 29, from 10 am – 5 pm at the Vancouver Convention Centre. For more information, visit their website.

This will be a quick contest closing on Friday, March 27 at 4:00 pm. The contest is now closed. The winner is Sunshine H.

    1. I do that with my son too. I remember the days my parents made me finish everything on my plate and they didn’t do me any favours…

  1. Sit and eat meals together…with lots of healthy choices (fruits and veggies) and as fresh as possible. We have two little ones 3.5 yrs and 1 yr old today!) and the kids eat what we eat 🙂

    1. If your kids will eat what you eat you are way ahead of the game. Man, I can’t tell you how many times I made two meals every night!

  2. I like to make a variety of snacks ahead of time. Meal/ snack prep is super important for me because being a mom of a 3 year old and twin 1 year olds, time is not in my favour when three hungry cubs need to be fed at once. I have always stood on giving my babies a 80/20 diet… eating healthy and whole foods 80 percent of the time and 20 percent of “other” like cereal or gold fish. I don’t give my children candy but i find that fruit is satisfying enough for them they don’t need any extra sugar.
… so I would say 80/20 rule, variety, and as much whole and organic healthy foods as we can manage 🙂

  3. We eat the rainbow. We always encourage our kids to try something once before judging whether we like it or not. Fresh veggies and fruits are always ready and available in the front of our fridge.

  4. We try to have a sit down, home cooked meal as a family every day. We’ve found that the social aspects of a family dinner encourage our 10mo to eat more solids. We also take public transit or walk everywhere so our stroller and baby carrier is the closest thing we have to a car.

  5. My little one is only 14 months, so I’m still learning every day! For now – we try to feed him only organic / hormone free food at home (not very sustainable but for now we’ll try!). We sit down for dinner with him every night so that meal time is about more than just food . And we have a no TV / screen time rule until he is at least two, which means we’ve got plenty of time to spend outside – even on these rainy Vancouver days we try to at least get out of the house to kick around a ball or play some “ockey!”.

  6. We don’t have a car, so we walk, a lot! I find it’s great for waking up in the morning, talking about DD’s school day in the afternoon, and helping manage day to day stresses.
